Enjoy a stay in one of the earliest pre-fab houses in America, built in 1836 of materials floated down the river all the way from Cincinnati! GardenSong is known for its beautiful Federal woodwork and a notable three story staircase, rising in a beautiful stair hall adorned with Chinese wallpaper.
The historic formal garden is one of the oldest in the south, hidden to view for 100 years before being discovered and restored in the 1960’s. It has been featured in numerous books and magazines, including Southern Living and Traditional Home.
The owner enjoys telling stories of the occupants of GardenSong, and he also is known to play a tune or two on the 1907 Chickering Grand Piano, located in the front parlor. Guests have full access to the property, and a full southern breakfast is cooked and served each morning in the mansion’s dining room.
